Total gold roof installation capacity in Shandong is 44.97MW

In the photovoltaic industry, insiders have revealed that the 2012 "Golden Roof Project," a key initiative led by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, has been fully approved and is expected to be launched soon. This project includes 126 projects with a total installed capacity of 321.6 MW and a grant fund of 1.823 billion yuan. Among all provinces, Shandong (including Qingdao) stands out with 17 selected projects, making it the top province in terms of both quantity and scale. Shandong has emerged as the biggest beneficiary of this year's "Golden Roof" initiative, securing the highest total installed capacity and subsidy funds nationwide. The province's total installed capacity reached 44.97 MW, with 258 million yuan in subsidies allocated. Following closely behind were Liaoning and Jiangsu, with installed capacities of 41.67 MW and 39.7 MW, respectively. This initiative marks another significant policy support for the development of the photovoltaic industry, following the previous "Golden Sun" program. Recently, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Energy Administration also released the second batch of the "Golden Sun" list. With the upcoming release of the "Golden Roof" subsidy list by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, two major policies supporting distributed photovoltaic projects have been put in place this year. In Shandong (excluding Qingdao), 14 projects were selected, including the Jinan Solar Photovoltaic Building Integration Demonstration Project and the Liao Cheng Photovoltaic Industrial Building Integration Demonstration Project. These projects collectively have an installed capacity of 36.97 MW and will receive a total of 208 million yuan in subsidies. Of these, 146 million yuan will be allocated this time. Notably, three of the projects are educational institutions, such as Jiaxiang County No. 1 Middle School, Jining University, and Weishan Yizhong Solar Energy Optoelectronic Building Integration Demonstration Project. Qingdao secured three projects, including the Qingdao Haiba Lingang Park, Qingdao Yifan Shipbuilding, and Qingdao Qinglian Doors and Windows solar photovoltaic building integration demonstration projects. These projects have an installed capacity of 8 MW and will receive 56 million yuan in subsidies. The subsidy amount for this year’s "Golden Roof" project ranges from 7.5 to 9 yuan per watt, depending on the project type. Projects with high integration of photovoltaic systems into buildings, such as those using building materials like roofs and curtain walls, receive the higher rate of 9 yuan/W. General projects that integrate photovoltaics with buildings at a lower level receive 7.5 yuan/W. All projects must be completed by the end of 2012. Compared to the "Golden Sun" initiative, the "Golden Roof" project offers slightly higher subsidies. Led by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the "Golden Roof" focuses primarily on BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics) projects. These involve photovoltaic components being part of the building structure, such as roofs or facades, promoting both aesthetics and environmental sustainability. In contrast, the "Golden Sun" program supports a broader range of projects, including BIPV and distributed generation projects where photovoltaics are added to existing structures, such as rooftop installations.
