With the acceleration of infrastructure investment and the ongoing implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan for National Strategic Emerging Industries, as well as the Energy-Saving Products Huimin Project, demand for non-ferrous metals—particularly those used in intensive processing—looks set to grow further. This is expected to boost the overall operating environment for the industry next year, potentially leading to improved average annual prices compared to this year. However, while market volatility may persist due to global monetary easing policies, business conditions are likely to ease.
On November 28th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China released its 2012 report on industrial economic operations. The report highlighted that increased infrastructure spending and the rollout of key national initiatives will drive higher demand for non-ferrous metals. It also noted that production is expected to grow steadily, with an improved operational environment, though recovery remains slow.
According to the report, from January to October, the non-ferrous metal industry's added value grew by 14% year-on-year, matching the growth rate from the same period last year. The output of ten major non-ferrous metals reached 33.84 million tons, up 8.4% year-on-year, although the growth rate was 1.9 percentage points lower than the previous year. Electrolytic copper and aluminum output rose by 7.9% and 12.3%, respectively. Despite this, profit margins shrank sharply, with the aluminum smelting industry suffering a total loss.
Profit for the sector fell to 147.5 billion yuan in the first ten months of the year, a 16.2% decline compared to the previous year. Main business income also dropped by 1.39 percentage points year-on-year, and the profit margin for smelting and rolling industries fell to 2.78%, down 1.3% from the previous year. The aluminum smelting industry alone reported a net loss of 1.35 billion yuan, and losses among unprofitable companies increased by 1.5 times year-on-year.
The main cause of the declining profits is the drop in domestic and international non-ferrous metal prices, compounded by rising costs such as electricity, energy, and interest expenses. Underlying structural issues include overcapacity in certain products, a low proportion of self-owned raw materials, limited high-value-added products, and an imbalanced investment structure. While fixed asset investment in the non-ferrous metals sector rose by 17.7% year-on-year through November, it still declined by 14.8% compared to the previous year. Smelting projects saw a slight decrease of 0.5%, while investments in mining and processing rose by 17.9% and 41.7%, respectively.
Despite these challenges, the outlook for next year is cautiously optimistic. With continued government support and policy implementation, the industry is expected to see a more favorable operating environment. However, factors like rural appliance distribution, excess capacity in low-end products, pressure to phase out outdated production, and financial market instability could still pose risks. Overall, the non-ferrous metal industry is expected to maintain stability, with further emphasis on structural reforms and long-term development.
Vegetable Seedlings Led Grow Light
A lamp tube is a specially designed lighting device designed to provide the required light for plants grown indoors. It usually consists of multiple LED lamp beads that emit specific wavelengths of light to meet the needs of plant photosynthesis.
The main characteristics of plant lamps are as follows:
1. Spectral regulation: plant lamps can emit light of specific wavelengths suitable for plant growth, such as blue, red and violet light. These rays can provide the required spectrum at different growth stages, promoting the healthy growth of the plant.
2. High efficiency and energy saving: The plant light tube uses LED technology, which has the characteristics of high efficiency and low energy consumption. Compared to traditional fluorescent or incandescent lamps, plant lamps are more energy efficient and can save energy costs.
3. Long life: LED lamp beads have a long life, usually up to tens of thousands of hours. This means that plant lamps do not require frequent bulb changes, reducing maintenance and replacement costs.
4. Adjustable brightness: plant lamps usually have the function of adjustable brightness, which can adjust the light intensity according to different plant needs and growth stages to provide the best growth environment.
5. Safe and reliable: Plant lamps use low voltage power supply and have a low fire risk. In addition, it is usually designed to be water and dust resistant and suitable for both indoor and outdoor growing environments.
In short, the plant lamp is a lighting device designed for indoor planting, by emitting a specific wavelength of light, to provide the required light for the plant and promote its healthy growth. It has the characteristics of high efficiency and energy saving, long life, adjustable brightness, safety and reliability, and is suitable for all kinds of plant planting environment.
