To address this, the industry standard "Integrated Guide for Built-in Kitchen Appliances" has recently been published for public comments and is now entering the approval stage. Developed jointly by the China Building Decoration Association and major industry players, this guide aims to unify specifications across various aspects such as drainage systems, construction, decoration, and barrier-free design. The framework is divided into five key sections: basic requirements, design, installation, acceptance, and maintenance. As feedback comes in, the content will be continuously refined, potentially evolving into simplified standards accompanied by practical manuals. The guide introduces a standardized system that regulates dimensions such as the width, depth, height, and opening size of kitchen appliances. For example, the diameter of the smoke exhaust pipe must not exceed 280 mm to ensure compatibility with hanging cabinets. It also integrates both domestic and international standards related to kitchen appliances, cabinetry, and home improvement, clearly defining electrical configurations, placement of kitchen appliances, and interface specifications. Notably, it aligns with European and Japanese standards, helping domestic manufacturers compete globally. Recently, the "Integrated Guide for Built-in Kitchen Appliances" was officially launched at the Kitchen Industry Branch of the China Household Appliances Technology Conference. Based on a comprehensive analysis of built-in kitchen appliances' performance and functionality, the guide provides professional recommendations on cabinet specifications, appliance layout, and electrical configuration. The development of standardized matching between built-in kitchen appliances and cabinets is crucial for the industry. It not only improves the overall efficiency of kitchen installations but also presents an opportunity for cabinet manufacturers to play a more significant role in the ecosystem. The kitchen appliance industry still lacks clear regulations, and early efforts to establish standards could greatly benefit the entire sector.
