40CrNiMoA is a type of alloy structural steel, also known as a combined steel or alloy steel. It is based on high-quality carbon structural steel with the addition of one or more alloying elements (total content not exceeding 5%). This grade is commonly used in applications requiring high strength, toughness, and durability.

The standard followed is GB/T 3077-1999.

Heat Treatment: Quenching at 850°C, oil cooling; Tempering at 600°C, water or oil cooling.

Annealed or High-Temperature Tempered Condition: Brinell Hardness (GBW) ≤269.

Delivery Condition: Can be delivered in heat-treated (normalized, annealed, or high-temperature tempered) or non-heat-treated condition. The delivery condition should be specified in the contract.

Applications: Widely used for high-strength, high-toughness components with large cross-sections, such as eccentric shafts in forging machines and presses.
