Henan Shenma Nylon Chemical Co., Ltd. recently introduced new "Regulations on the Administration of Labor Products." Starting from 2014, the company has transitioned from a previous model of unified allocation and annual distribution to an on-demand configuration system with filing requirements. This change aims to reduce waste, enhance the effectiveness of labor protection, and improve the overall safety within the company.
Labor protection plays a crucial role in ensuring workplace safety. Previously, the company used a one-size-fits-all approach for distributing labor protection products. All employees, regardless of their position—whether frontline or back-office, production or non-production, hazardous or non-hazardous—were provided with the same set of protective gear. This led to inefficiencies, such as over-configuration in some roles causing unnecessary waste, and under-provisioning in others, which failed to meet actual needs. Employees often expressed concerns about this lack of customization.
After thorough research and analysis, the company decided to revise the "Regulations on the Administration of Labor Supplies." From now on, all labor protection items will be allocated based on demand, with proper documentation and filing. This shift ensures that each employee receives the appropriate level of protection tailored to their specific job requirements.
Under the new system, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Production Technology Department will determine the criteria for labor protection products, including the type, service life, procurement methods, and distribution strategies for each role. The differences between front-line and back-office positions, production and non-production roles, as well as hazardous and non-hazardous jobs, will be clearly addressed. Each employee from the Warehousing Management Center will maintain a "Labor Protection Products Receipt Card," which will be updated whenever there are changes in job roles, as reported by the Human Resources Office and based on the standards set by the Safety Technology Office.
This improved system not only enhances the accuracy and efficiency of labor protection but also strengthens the company’s internal safety measures, creating a safer and more effective working environment for all staff members.
