Originally known as the "Nanjing International Commodity City," the project was launched in 2004 as a major investment initiative by the local government. Located strategically near the airport, it was planned in three phases with the first phase covering over 600 acres and a construction area of 510,000 square meters. The initial investment reached nearly 2 billion yuan, aiming to create a large-scale wholesale trading center. However, progress stalled over the years. Now, the project has been rebranded as the Yongyong Building Materials Hardware Market. Officials from Lukou Street revealed that the market is expected to become a leading wholesale hub in the region, offering a wide range of professional building materials. Currently, more than 1,000 business owners have moved in, and the market is scheduled to open soon. In addition, over 1,000 property owners have formed committees and signed standardized contracts with the management company, ensuring their rights and interests are protected. This development marks a significant step forward for the area, offering a fresh start for investors and traders alike. With its strategic location and strong support from local authorities, the Yongyong Market is well-positioned to become a key player in the regional construction materials industry.
