How to store compound feed
The storage characteristics of pelleted feedstock are granulated by steam (also water), which can kill most microorganisms and pests, and has large porosity, low water content, and vitamins are easily destroyed by light.
Most of the powdered compound feeds for powdered feed are cereals with large surface area, small porosity, poor thermal conductivity, and easy moisture absorption and mildew. The vitamins therein increase in loss with increasing temperature. Vitamins and minerals are mixed differently, and their losses are different. In addition, light is also one of the main factors contributing to vitamin loss. Therefore, powdered feeds are generally not suitable for long-term use and should be used as soon as possible. Generally, the storage time in the factory should not exceed one month.
Concentrated feed storage This feed is rich in protein and contains nutrients such as vitamins and various trace elements. Its thermal conductivity is poor, it is easy to absorb moisture, so vitamins and pests are easy to breed, and vitamins are susceptible to heat and oxidation and fail. When conditions permit, an appropriate amount of antioxidant can be added. Store in a dry, low temperature place.
