Processing of other parts
1. Base and gear box
Both components are typical structural components. The gantry milling machine is recommended for the base and is machined twice. The gear box is drilled, boring, milling, etc. on a large horizontal machining center. Similarly, internal cooling is necessary to increase the processing efficiency of the holes.
It is understood that Sandvik Coromant has developed detailed process plans, tool selection and machining parameters for different bases and gearboxes, providing an important prerequisite for machine tool manufacturers to choose the most reliable tooling solution.
2. Connecting flange
The part processing equipment is similar to the slewing bearing, but the material of the connecting flange is mostly low carbon steel, and it is not easy to break the chip when drilling. Sandvik Coromant uses LM's insert geometry to process it, and its good chip breaking performance has been verified by the user.
3. Generator spindle
The biggest difficulty with the generator spindle is the efficient milling of the lower slot. Considering the combination, the machining is divided into two steps: straight slot milling and lower slot milling. Both of them adopt the form of indexable end mills, which can reduce the power and torque requirements of the equipment.
