Anhui College Entrance Examination Implementation of Full Video Surveillance

Anhui Province has completed the setup of national standardized examination venues for the college entrance exam, marking a major step in enhancing security and fairness. This year’s exam will feature video surveillance and online patrols across all 17,000 testing rooms. After each exam, every room will be recorded to prevent rule violations by students and to monitor invigilators effectively. In case of disputes, video playback can be used to identify any misconduct. This year’s college entrance exam in Anhui is being called the "strictest in history." To ensure the integrity of the test, an extra layer of film was added to the paper bags to prevent tampering or unauthorized access. GPS tracking devices have been installed on all test paper transport vehicles, enabling full monitoring from start to finish. Additionally, 17,000 examination rooms are now equipped with "electronic eyes," capable of recording and replaying footage to detect any cheating behavior. The Provincial Examination Institute revealed that multiple departments, including the Provincial Education Department, the Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Higher People's Court, and the Public Security and National Security Departments, have activated a coordinated mechanism to ensure the smooth running of the exam. These efforts include strict measures before and after the test to safeguard the process. In terms of paper security, additional precautions were taken. A protective layer of plastic was applied to the outside of test paper bags to prevent damage or theft. All transportation vehicles for the papers are fitted with GPS and image capture systems, allowing for real-time tracking and monitoring. Once the papers arrive at the secure storage facilities, a 24-hour duty system is in place, and the Provincial Examination Office conducts continuous online video surveillance across 91 examination areas. For the first time, all examination rooms are equipped with electronic monitoring systems. Each room will be recorded after the exam, ensuring transparency and accountability. This helps not only in preventing cheating but also in verifying the conduct of invigilators. As part of broader efforts, special operations such as “Combating Cheating Equipment Sales,” “Cleaning the Surroundings of Test Centers,” and “Cleaning the Online Environment Related to Exams” have been launched. The Provincial Radio Management Committee will deploy mobile monitoring units to detect any illegal use of high-tech cheating devices. Any anomalies will be investigated by the police. Meanwhile, harmful online content related to the exam is being monitored in real time for quick identification and resolution. Meteorological forecasts indicate possible thunderstorms and strong winds during the exam period. To address this, emergency plans have been refined across all levels of education institutions, test centers, and venues. Practical drills have been conducted to prepare for unexpected situations like extreme weather, high temperatures, or other challenges. Efforts are being made to ensure the safety of candidates, staff, and the secure handling of test papers, especially for foreign language listening exams. Additionally, over 190 government officials and university administrators have been deployed as provincial inspectors to oversee the process. They will work under strict confidentiality to ensure the exam runs smoothly. Educational authorities and disciplinary inspection departments will also conduct random inspections of test centers to maintain full oversight throughout the entire college entrance examination process.
