In the process of growing crops, if rational fertilization can be achieved, it can not only produce high quality and high yield of crops, but also save fertilizer. So, how can we correctly determine the lack of fertilizer in crops?
First, the determination of crop nitrogen deficiency fertilizer. When crops lack nitrogen fertilizer, physiological activities are weakened, metabolism is declining, and plant growth is slow. Its main manifestations are: new shoots are short and short, leaves are small and erect, color grayish green, petioles, veins and surface layer turn red; flowers are small, fruit is precocious, easy to fall off; roots are not well developed, fine roots are large, and there are few roots , the new roots are yellow. For example, when soybeans lack nitrogen fertilizer during the growth period, the leaves begin to lighten from the lower leaves and become pale green. Later, they gradually turn yellow until they are dry, and sometimes copper spots appear on the leaves. In severe cases, the plants no longer grow and the leaves fall off one after another.
Second, the determination of crops lack of phosphate fertilizer. Phosphate fertilizer is not particularly obvious in the early stage of crop growth. In the middle and late stages of crop growth, nitrogen accumulation and protein synthesis will be seriously affected. The symptoms of crops in the absence of nitrogen fertilizer are more complicated, and the performance is different in different crops.
When the corn is deficient in phosphorus, it will show slow growth at the seedling stage. After 5 leaves, the symptoms are more obvious. The leaves are purple, the ears are short, curved, bald, and the seeds are not full. When wheat is deficient in phosphorus, it shows that the seedlings grow slowly, the roots are poorly developed, the tillers are reduced, the base of the stems is purple, the leaves are dark green, slightly purple, and the ears are small. When the soybean is deficient in phosphate fertilizer, the leaf color becomes darker, dark green or black-green, the leaf shape is small, sharp and narrow, and it stands upright, the plant is small and the growth is slow. In severe cases, the stem may appear red. If there is phosphorus deficiency after flowering, the leaves will appear brown spots.
Third, the determination of crops lack of potassium fertilizer. In the case of crops lacking potassium fertilizer, the initial stage will be yellowing at the tip of the lower leaves, and gradually yellowing along the edge of the leaves, but the leaves and the midribs of the veins remain green. When severe, the surface of the lower leaves gradually develops upwards, eventually leading to most of the leaves. Withered yellow, the edges of the leaves are burning. Cereal crops will result in weaker tillering, short internodes, weak leaves, and soft stems that tend to fall. Dicotyledons cause the leaves to curl, gradually shrink, and sometimes the leaves are broken, but the middle of the leaves remains green. Root crops can cause root weight loss and poor quality.
