Abstract Since the beginning of this year, the Jingkou Town Government in Jiang'an County has been leveraging its natural resources and long-standing expertise in sandstone mining to drive local economic growth along the Yangtze River. By capitalizing on the potential of Leifang Stone Resources, the town has actively sought investment opportunities, leading to promising developments. To date, five companies have conducted site visits, and one has already been successfully recruited. On July 18th, the author learned from local officials that Jingkou Town has successfully attracted a stone processing enterprise with a total investment of 50 million yuan. The newly introduced stone processing plant will focus on utilizing locally sourced Leifang stone materials to produce furniture panels and road engineering panels. The project is planned in two phases, with the first phase requiring an investment of 30 million yuan and the second phase expected to bring in an additional 20 million. Construction for the first phase is currently underway and is anticipated to be completed by mid-September. Once operational, the facility is projected to generate an annual output value of 20 million yuan, while also creating employment opportunities for nearly 100 local residents. This development marks a significant step forward in the town’s efforts to boost economic activity and create sustainable job opportunities in the region.
