Recently, the domestic MD series high-speed roller cone drill succeeded in the horizontal well section of the new 21-1H horizontal well in western Sichuan after the successful vertical well test of the West Sichuan New 8 well. The average rate of penetration is 2.84 m / h, which is 83.2% higher than the HJT537GK wide-tooth bit used in the horizontal section of the well, and the service life is extended by 24.6%.
The well was designed by the Engineering Technology Research Institute of Southwest Oil and Gas Branch and drilled by the 70143XNC well team of Chongqing Drilling Branch of Petroleum Engineering Southwest Company. The four-open horizontal section of the well is the four-segment glutenite stratum of the Xujiahe Formation. The horizontal section is 3840 meters deep. During the drilling process, the HJT537GK wide-toothed bit drill with a diameter of 215.9 mm is first drilled. The average mechanical drilling speed is 1.55 m/h. The life of a single drill bit is 20.7 hours.
The construction personnel tested 5 MD617 high-speed roller cone drills with a total footage of 367.5 meters, an average mechanical drilling speed of 2.84 meters per hour, and an average single drill life of 25.8 hours. One of the MD617 high-speed cone bits reached 114.2 meters, and the rate of penetration was 10,000. 3.62 m / h, the service life reached 31.58 hours.
The successful test of the drill bit laid the foundation for the selection of drilling bits and the speed of drilling in deep wells in western Sichuan, which is conducive to the speeding up of deep wells in western Sichuan.
